About JTAG Members

JTAG Members is a component extension for Joomla! CMS. It helps in the management of user profiles with the ability to publish member information in a simple searchable directory. This extension is great for Non-profits, clubs, local chapters or Board member websites.
How does it work
The link to the extension is located under Components menu in the administration panel of your Joomla! site. The administration of the extension consists of two panels available from the extension’s sub-menu, as follows:

Dashboard
The dashboard contains info from Joomlatag.com Latest news, twitter posts etc.

Manage members
This is the actual panel of the extension. From here you can take all actions to administrate the content. When clicking on “Manage members” a list of all currently added members is shown. You can either add a new profile, edit or delete an existing one. While adding or deleting a member, the Administrator can decide the following:

• Key fields of the User's profile should be hidden from users or not
• Key fields of the User's profile should be displayed to the non-registered user's or not

Note: Deleting a profile will only delete the user’s profile from JTAG Members directory. The account on Joomla itself won’t be deleted.

Add /Edit Members

On click of the “New” button on the top toolbar or on click of of the user’s id, an editable form to add / edit a member is displayed. Here the information about the user. and be filled up.  The user has to be a registered Joomla user to be part of the directory. On click of the “user” field, a pop-up is shown with a list of all registered users along with a sleek filter field that makes browsing easier. You can filter users by user name or by real name.

The key fields have an option to be hidden from the front end users - one has to just uncheck the “Display on frontend” check box that is situated next to the field that can be hidden.

The key fields also have an option to be hidden from non-registered users - one has to just uncheck the corresponding checkbox for "Allow Non-Registered Users to View" that is situated next to the field.

Note: Hiding a field is considered just for the user you are currently editing. These settings won’t affect other profiles.

JTAG Members gives you the ability to upload a profile picture for each profile you create. If no picture is uploaded a default one will be shown. After you upload a picture you can later replace it with another one, in which case the old one will be automatically deleted, or you can just delete the current one by checking the “Delete current image” check box, which is visible only if there is a picture uploaded, then click the “Apply” button on the top toolbar.

Furthermore, you can hide a whole profile from the front end users and keep the profile data private. You just have to set “Display in frontend” setting to “No”, which is situated right under the “Member profile” text box.

JTAG Members allows you to fill the following information about the user:

• Name (that is auto filled if the user has entered one in his account and it can also be edited); In addition an existing Joomla user can also be imported
• Country
• City
• State
• Phone number
• Facebook page
• Twitter page
• Profile description.

Additionally there are TEN extra fields that you can fill with whatever data you want. In order to do that, you should define the three parameters for each of them.  The - “Field name” i, the  “Field label” and the "Field Value". The “Field label” itself is a description of the data you enter in the “Field value” field. E.g. you enter “Cell phone” for the "Field Name" and "Field Label" and “123456” for value. In the front end this will be shown as

Cell phone: 123456

when the user’s profile is viewed.

Front end
The users’ profiles are listed in the front end where they can be browsed. The user’s full information is visible when clicking on his/her profile.
The users can also be filtered by using the integrated search engine. It gives you the ability to filter users by name, country, state and city.

Advanced Options -

Select the data source: Flickr content or Joomla articles

1.if joomla articles, choose Joomla content category and Joomla content articles;
To create articles -
Go to the Joomla backend -> Content -> Article Manager
a. Add a new article.
b. Fill out the fields below, choose a category for the article
c. You add the image in the 'Article text' field, where you can also add some text - every article is a separate slide, so do not add more than one image per article
d. To add an image click on one of the two buttons (see attached screenshot) - to add an image by a URL click on the button above the text box, to upload an image, click on the button below

2.if Flickr content - set Flickr api key and enter one of the following Flickr urls in one of the fields below  (Flickr gallery url, Flickr group url, Flickr person url, Flickr photoset url) If you fill out all URL fields, the slider will take images only from the highest one (for example you enter Flickr gallery url and Flickr group url - slider takes Flickr gallery url)

Assigning Categories to Videos

If you want to add videos to a certain category, please go to the JTAG Videos component on the back end and click on the Categories tab. After you add categories, click on Manage videos, then select the videos you want added to a category, after that click Publish (top right corner).
Then, when you go to the front end you can see there is a root category, called all, where all the added videos are, and there are the other categories, you've added videos to.

b. Enable Jtag Lightbox

2. Navigate to Category Manager  - create categories as required
